I’ve always been inspired by the classic beauty of style icons Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. However, when I was younger I was distraught over my inability to master the art of liquid eyeliner, that is really key to achieving their symbolic look. When I was 19 I stomped right into M.A.C. and begged them to show me the “secret” that I just was not in on. How do you do it?! How do you make a straight line so close to the eyelashes?? I just didn’t get it! This is when I was given the single best make-up tip of my life. If you can not apply liquid eyeliner but want that same effect, what you need is a thin angled eyeliner brush and some black eye shadow and you can flawlessly make that same look… Ten years later, I am still using the same technique I learned that day.
Well, the Bare Escentuals Tutorials – Eye Lining kit is a great find for anyone who wants this iconic style, but are liquid eyeliner-challenged.
This set includes two liner shadows: Sable (smoky mocha) and Minx (sparkly multicolor charcoal), a fabulously inventive magnetic Multi-liner Brush: Full-Edge Liner, Soft Edge Liner and Pointed Liner; brush pouch and eye lining tutorial guide… All for $38.
Overall, the colors are great, the pictures in the tutorial make it easy BUT this set is worth every penny just for the brush! It’s of very high quality and the 3 options of tips are great for achieving multiple looks. So whether you are an eye lining novice and want this set for the lesson or a make-up pro who is looking for a a great lining brush, you won’t regret purchasing this kit!
