CHANEL Jade Nail Collection

In 1995 it was Vamp. A few years ago it was Black Satin (which I never personality was in to, but I totally get why it was huge), then Blue Satin, then Haute Chocolate and the Russian Nights Collections… What am I referring to? CHANEL Nail Colors that fashionistas would have traded their first born to get their hands on. So huge, these colors sold out rapidly and then were found going for $50 and up on eBay… SO huge that we were actually paying the $50 and up for these shades.. Ladies, prepare yourself for the frenzy, because the next IT nail colour will start Friday, September 11th. CHANEL’s Jade Nail Collection will be sold for limited time exclusively at www.chanel.com CHANEL Makeup Studios and CHANEL boutiques at $25.  The two colors in the collection are ‘Jade’- a soft pistachio green that was designed specifically to be reminiscent of a genuine Jade stone. The next is ‘Jade Rose”- a sweet, pale pink, that looks surprisingly fresh with the dark colors and heavy textures you will be seeing this winter. Here’s a little on the collection:

Peter Philips, Global Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup, created the Jade Nail Collection with two limited edition nail enamels in sure-to-be-coveted colors “Jade” and “Jade Rose” for the Ready-to-Wear Autumn/Winter 2009-2010 runway show. These mineral-inspired shades transform the nails into genuine gems and recall the jade jewelry and the pink knit and pistachio tweed of the fashion collection. “For the nails, Karl wanted a green shade to evoke the jade notes of the collection. I worked with our laboratories to offer him a monochromatic palette of 10 green shades. We chose the color that most resembled the green tweed skirt suit from the collection,” explains Peter Philips.

I am just BEYOND ecstatic!! I’ve personally been looking forward to Jade since it was first spotted at CHANEL’s Runway show…  Now, I really am a reasonable person. I do realize that no rationally thinking individual would spend $25 on just one bottle of nail polish… However, when it comes to CHANEL, all sound logic seems to dissolve into visions of the perfect pedicure… But I do have a plan of attack for Friday:  I am fully prepared to only buy Jade. I can at least rationalize that I have about 20 bottles of soft pink nail polishes, so I can let the Jade Rose pass me by… But I am not prepared to use that same logic for Jade. Nope. Just can’t do it. First thing Friday morning I will be on Chanel.com ordering myself this little treat. Enjoy the runway pictures of Jade below:
